It has been said to be able to control pain in cancer patients, cure smokers and encourage weight loss. It is also considered by many to be a great party trick. Hypnosis can both cure and entertain, but it cannot turn the masses into a group of zombie-like drones unable to think for themselves. Historically used by doctors to anesthetize people, hypnosis keeps free will intact and can help people make important changes in their lives.
